The sale of protective masks increased after the covid outbreak in 2020. Now that it seems to be dying down, the usage of these masks also appears to decrease. However, If you want to fight against those nasty air pollutants floating around in the air, be it at work or home, you may want to consider buying an N95 face mask.

Also known as P2 face masks, the market for N95 masks in Australia and New Zealand is predicted to be worth US$ 160.7 million in 2020 and US$ 203.8 million by the end of 2027. Therefore, one can conclude that the sale of the P2 face mask in Australia will never cease.

    What Is It?

N95 masks are the most common type of PPE used in healthcare settings, such as hospitals. They are also used in construction, agriculture, and other industries where workers may be exposed to airborne particles. Besides, this model has high durability and is designed to filter away airborne particles. Its filtration level is so high that it is recommended to be worn only during the day’s peak. The mask is designed to prevent potential particles from getting into your eyes and causing damage. Furthermore, it filters as many of these particles as possible.

Why Would You Need an N95 Face Mask?

Along with the extreme weather conditions in Australia, pollution can hurt people’s health. Meanwhile, most people are used to breathing in air containing particles that can quickly get into our eyes, which is why they always have dust in the air. But when you are outside or working in the air, the air quality is usually worse than at home.

Breathing in air containing particles that can quickly get into your eyes is known as “respirator exposure.” These particles can cause eye infections, irritation, or even loss of vision in severe cases. So if your eyes become irritated or start to water, this can cause blurry vision, reduced vision, and loss of depth perception, and this can lead to accidents and can be dangerous. Meanwhile, wearing an N95 face mask will significantly reduce your chances of experiencing any of the symptoms above.

Are There Different Types of N95 Masks?

N95 masks are available in a variety of sizes and shapes to fit different face shapes and sizes. They are also available with or without valves, while valved masks are more comfortable to wear but may be less effective at filtering out particles.

There are different types of N95 masks on the market, and there are models designed for general use, sportswear, and to avoid inhaling toxic gases.

So, an N95 face mask designed for sportswear is worn during sports. This mask protects the wearer’s skin from sweat and sunlight. Meanwhile, this mask is for use in warmer weather. On the other hand, the ones designed for gas use are designed to filter the exhaust fumes from gas-powered vehicles such as cars and motorcycles and in other toxic conditions. These masks are also worn when breathing in confined spaces as the air can contain particles that can get particles in your eyes. Now, the ones designed for general use are designed to filter airborne particles. These masks are to be worn during work and indoors as well as outside.

These masks are a type of respirator designed to filter out fine particles from the air, including dust and viruses. And regarding its value, surgical and P2 face masks in Australia remained at the top of the market in 2019, with an 85.8% share, while the respiratory mask came in second. The mask is made of a unique material that can capture tiny particles. However, it must fit snugly to your face to work properly.
