Her love for music, coupled with her amazing voice, made Aalyah a hit with the masses when she was in high school. Her performance at a local restaurant had people in the crowd cheering her on right up until the tall, thin woman fell apart. It was then that she realized that she needed to take care of herself and put food on the table everyday. She quit her jobs and started running instead which has given her some much needed peace of mind. She now feeds her kids herself and spends as much time as possible at home instead of working or doing something crazy.
Aalyah is a proud mother of two boys and a daughter who adores her.
When Aalyah first found out that her kids were going to be in the same class as her, she was in shock. “I was in shock. I didn’t know what to do!” she said. “I just knew that they were going to be my kids and that’s all that really matters.” “I know it’s super hard for new parents to take the first step,” said Aalyah, who is also the owner of Aalyah’s Kids. “But it’s the best thing to do for your kids.”
She also practices yoga and reads to her little ones every night.
“It makes me feel happy to be a part of a family. It makes me feel good to be a part of a community. It makes me feel good to be a part of a country. It gives me purpose.”
What can you do to make your day easier?
“I always tell people that they should try to do one thing everyday for the rest of their lives. So that’s what I did.” Aalyah loves to take care of her family. She has done so for the past decade, and she is still doing so today. Every day she wakes up at 5:30 am to get ready for work, makes sure she has fed her kids, cleans their room and finished their chores, then she heads to the grocery store to shop until 12:30 or 1:30 or 2:30 or 3:30 or 4:30 or 5:30 or 6:30 or 7:30 or 8:30 or 9:30
Eat well!
“When you’re on the outside looking in, you realize how incredibly lucky you are to have everything that you have.” Aalyah said. “When you have your kids, everything start to make sense—why the world is the way it is, and how everything works. It all comes into play when you make the most of what you have.” Aalyah also loves to go to the gym regularly. When she’s fit enough to run, she runs long-distance routes or rides her bike to work. When she isn’t in the mood to run, she can always spend some time at the gym or do something else that engaged her.
Go to the gym daily!
“It makes me feel good to be a part of a community. It makes me feel good to be a part of a country. It gives me purpose.” Aalyah loves to do things with her kids. She loves to play with them and make lunch for them. When she’s in the mood to do something, she goes to the grocery store, buys salad and has her kids help her cook. When she wants to be active, she does yoga and does stretching as needed. When she isn’t in the mood to do anything, she can always take a quick nap.
Do something relaxing today!
Aalyah loves to do something that gets her moving. So when she gets the chance to relax, she goes to the spa, goes for a run or does anything else that engages her. She loves to sit on the floor with her kids while they play and watch TV and take a break before they return to the games. When they are done, they all go back to playing while they have a snack or two.
Don’t drop the ball on exercise!
“Exercising makes you feel good. You feel energized. You are force-fed energy. You feel good. You look good. You feel good. You TORMENT the system.” Aalyah said. “And that’s what exercise is, in a nutshell.” “What can you do to make your day easier?” Aalyah asks her kids every day. “Jogging is easy for your body and it gives you the proper release of gas. It’s good for your mind. It’s good for your body. You’re putting yourself in the present moment, instead of Thinking about the past or the future,” Aalyah explains. “Fitness makes you feel good. You are getting strong. You’re getting fit. You’re getting fit for your health. You’re getting fit for your lifestyle,” Aalyah said. “You put yourself in the present moment instead of looking at the past or the future. You’re looking at the present, the here and now, and you’re finding ways to be more effective.”
